D+P "The untold"- Character workshop Week 2

As I said in my first post of this project, one of my ideas for my final prints was to have a narrative going through them with a woodland creature featuring in all of them as a sort of main character. For this workshop I therefore chose to make a hedge hog out of some found materials which was harder than I thought.

I wasn't really happy with the outcome, probably because it seemed too realistic and once I sketched out a few images for the story board for this idea, I decided it was't the right direction to go in.
I feel like a more decorative approach to illustrating the different scenes I envisioned whilst listening to the piece would be more appropriate for surface/textile design. I will therefore be able collage and layer different illustrations, photographs etc. to make more abstract woodland scenes. As there is no visual representation with the sound piece, I get many vague and fragmented versions of what is going on and I think that this more collaged approach to image making will suit the uncertainty of the narrative with in the piece.
